Workshop Descriptions

A Pilgrimage on Sackville Trails with Rob Fennell and Shawna Lucas

Getting outside and getting moving are two of the basic needs of human beings. Another need (one that is sometimes neglected) is spiritual awareness in the midst of everyday life. Come with Shawna and Rob for two hours and enjoy some “walking with purpose” – a reflective micro-pilgrimage that will help us attune mind, body, and soul on the trails of Sackville.

The Spirituality of Aging with Catherine Smith

Aging is “a profound opportunity for spiritual growth and wisdom writes gerontologist Robert Atchely – an opportunity. How often do we think of aging in those terms?

Yet, if we hold the days of our aging tenderly, attentively, courageously, they open us to depths of life we might never have imagined. In these depths we may find a holy freedom. The spirituality of aging is as vital to reflect on as the biology of aging. This deepening spirituality is not only vital for our individual lives, it is vital as a gift we may offer to a restive society. How do we recognize and honour the spiritual gifts of aging both in our individual lives and the lives of our faith communities? Through questions, prompts, and practices we’ll consider the space for Spirit in our aging. This workshop welcomes young and old and in-between.

Table Church Option

On your tables you’ll find a description of Table Church. I’m interested in sharing this resource with people, hearing what was helpful, or not, and thinking about how you or your congregation or a group of folks you know might imagine using this.

If you would like to gather with me to participate in a Table Church worship time over a meal, please talk to me at or before Friday morning coffee. We’ll have the opportunity to participate in Table Church over lunch on Friday. Catherine
